ABOUT KAREN NISENSON
Music & Creative Arts Therapist in Westport, CT

For more than 35 years, I have dedicated my career to helping children and adults with autism and other special needs discover the power of music and the arts. As a board-certified creative arts therapist and classically trained musician, I use music therapy and creative expression to help individuals communicate, build confidence, and thrive.

Based in Westport, CT, I work with families throughout Fairfield County and beyond. My mission is to provide compassionate, personalized therapy that supports not only the individual, but also the parents, siblings, and caregivers who walk alongside them.

My Story
My background as a Juilliard-trained pianist allows me to bring creativity and flexibility into every session, opening new possibilities for self-expression and growth. I have also shared my passion widely, giving talks, seminars, and workshops to teachers, parents, and students on the role of the arts in special education and best practices for integrating music therapy into schools and communities.
